“Divorce coaching is a flexible, goal-oriented process designed to support, motivate, and guide people going through divorce to help them make the best possible decisions for their future, based on their particular interests, needs, and concerns."

-The American Bar Association

It  is possible to make it out of the dissolution of a marriage not only  surviving but also thriving.  As your Divorce Coach, I will support,  guide and help you through every stage.

Questions Divorce Coaches Help Clients With...

  • Should I get a divorce or not?
  • Which divorce process is best for me? What are my options? Mediation? Collaborative Divorce? Litigation?
  • How does the divorce system really work? How can I best manage it so it doesn’t manage me?
  • What should I do before my divorce so that I do my best during my divorce?
  • How do I choose a lawyer? What other professionals might I need to get me through this process and how do I find them?
  • Is there any way to save time and money in my divorce?
  • Where do I even start? How can I gather information and get organized for this divorce?
  • How can I best prepare for meetings with my lawyer? For my mediation? For my court appearances?
  • What is the best way to communicate and negotiate with my spouse ?
  • What strategies can I create for dealing with a difficult spouse/ex?
  • What about my kids? I want them to be as unharmed as possible.
  • How do I create a parenting schedule and a parenting plan?
  • How can I make these big decisions? How can I not feel so overwhelmed?
  • Where can I find a safe, supportive and non-judgmental place to share my feelings? My emotions are all over the place and everybody has their own advice and opinions about MY situation.
  • What will my future look like? What goals do I want to create for myself?
  • I feel like my world is falling apart. How can I put it back together?

It is one of the most destabilizing life events. According to various studies divorce is the SECOND most stressful experience that any adult will experience in a lifetime – followed only by the death of a spouse/loved one. (Marriage, by the way, came in at number 7 on the Holmes-Rahe Scale).

Divorce is, in fact, a bereavement process on many ways. There are many losses besides the obvious divisions of assets, finances, and time with kids.

The feelings of loss can go much deeper –

into the  murky waters of the unknown.

And what people don’t know can cause much greater fear and stress than what they do know… But you are certainly not alone. About 40-50% of married couples will divorce. The rate is higher with subsequent marriages. The United States has the third highest divorce rate in the world. *

As a person impacted by divorce, you are certainly not alone even if you may sometimes feel alone. You certainly don’t have to be.

*I could never leave you hanging. Number two is Belarus and #1 is The Maldives according to a 2018 article by the American Psychological Association)
